About Us - Our Mission
ECCI’s mission includes improving the quality of life of its approximately 2,500 residents by:
For almost 30 years the residents of our neighborhood have been working to build and strengthen the character of our neighborhood. It is our mission to promote the general welfare of residents and to improve conditions in the neighborhood, thus providing a clean and safe place to live.
We offer youth and senior activities and academic enhancement for young people. Eastside Concerned Citizens, Inc. provides programs and services to children and families in our community in an effort to provide positive role models enabling appropriate lifestyles for their future. We encourage children and adolescents to maintain a positive environment in their life.
During the summer, youth assist senior citizens with cleaning up their property as well as cleaning right of way areas and lanes in the neighborhood and distributing flyers to encourage residents to keep their property maintained.
In crime prevention, youth have been engaged in increased communication with the police department in reporting crimes and criminal activity and encouraging other youth to become involved in neighborhood activity rather than criminal activity.
